168 students recognized for academic excellence


Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a Qatar Foundation (QF) partner university, recognized 168 students for academic excellence with the fall 2021 semester Dean’s List ceremony. Students are included on the Dean’s List based on grades from the previous semester. 


The Dean’s List for the fall 2021 semester included 28 first-year students, 47 sophomore students, 49 junior students and 44 senior students. 
Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, opened the ceremony with words of encouragement.


“If you are here today as one of our Dean’s List honorees, you did a lot of things right last semester. Acknowledge your accomplishment and take a moment to feel proud. If there are areas you feel you can improve, also acknowledge them. Understanding both your strengths and weaknesses will help you grow and learn throughout your studies, and your career.” 


The first-year honorees on the fall 2021 Dean’s List are: Asad Abdurazzakov, Abrar Tasneem Abir, Mariam Afifi, Aldana Aldisi, Aisha Al-Subaie, Ioana Andrei, Omar Salah A.H.
