In 2003, Global Innovations developed an ERP solution for the travel sector, which is now used by more than 100 companies. For many years, Global Innovations used dedicated hosting - meaning each customer had its own infrastructure, but this came with high costs.

In 2019, Global Innovations designed a solution to address a new customer segment. “But the development was much more complicated,” explains Kabir Ali Baig, CEO and founder of Global Innovations. “This was particularly due to the large number of suppliers that had to be integrated into the tool.” To become more competitive in the market, Global Innovations decided to look for an alternative to dedicated hosting infrastructure. The key requirements  for the new IT set-up should wear flexibility and a variable pricing model.

Global Innovations found their perfect fit in the IONOS Cloud. “The advantages for us are primarily the cost savings and that we didn’t have to commit to any payables – such as minimum monthly sales. Compared to cloud heavyweights from the USA, for example, we’re making really big savings,” states Kabir Ali Baig.

However, the migration into the cloud was not without some technical challenges. “The application is based on both legacy and recent technology code. We also work with multiple stacks, open-source and Microsoft.” Global Innovations was able to quickly overcome these challenges with the help of IONOS Cloud Professional Services and completed the migration within three months.

Furthermore, Global Innovations developed a new cloud-native application with the help of the IONOS Cloud platform. “The cloud enables us to implement our own solutions for a variety of customers – and, depending on the utilisation, to scale as required.” At only one-tenth of the costs of dedicated hosting. “This development was only possible thanks to IONOS Cloud,” enthuses Kabir Ali Baig.
