Dean's List for Fall 2020 Semester Includes 175 Students from all Academic Programs

Doha, Qatar, March 18, 2021: Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a Qatar Foundation (QF) partner university, recognized 175 students for academic excellence in the fall semester. The CMU-Q Dean's List is released after each semester to formally acknowledge exceptional academic achievement.

The university held a socially-distanced ceremony for the students, which was also live-streamed so parents and family members could watch. The Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester included 32 first-year students, 47 sophomore students, 36 junior students, and 60 senior students. Students from each of CMU-Q's programs were honored.

Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, addressed the honorees saying, “I congratulate this distinguished group of students for their outstanding academic performance, especially during such a challenging time. Students, these are exceptional times, and I am very proud of each of you who for embracing the challenge, focusing on your learning, and succeeding.” 

First-year honorees include: Devang Acharya, Katrina Agcaoili, Hala Al Darbasti, Ahmad Alhallaq, Maha Al-Suffar, Danagul Azimzhanova, Huda Baig, Thang Bui, Marwa Mohamed I. Darwish, Sweety Devnani, Malika Dikshit, Ahmed El Fekih Zguir, Yahya Elkhatib, Adel Fergatova, Diana Gazizova, Amiko Gogitidze, Faraz Habib, Hana Hasna, Kainaat Nadeem Khan, Allyssa Bianca Magpantay, Thuc Ngo, Andrei-Horia Pacurar, Earl Louis Quilling, Maya Salameh, Ulan Seitkaliyev, Gulnaz Serikbay, Diram Tabaa, Temoor Tanveer, Lasha Targamadze, Fiza Tarlochan, Muhammad Shafin Waqar, and Zhijie Xu.
