QIB Improves Customer Experience with Enhanced Card-Related Features on its Award-Winning Mobile App
18 November 2020, Doha, Qatar: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), the largest private Bank in Qatar, is pleased to announce the introduction of new features to its Mobile App, further empowering its customers to instantly manage and control their credit and charge cards through the app and fulfill their daily banking needs remotely.
Developed with customers’ banking needs in mind, the QIB Mobile App now allows them to benefit from new advanced features, including a real time display of credit card transactions status and the instant activation of their Credit Shield Takaful plan.
Customers can now easily see their credit card transactions status - outstanding, matched, dropped, cancelled or reversed - on the transaction overview screen. Visa credit cardholders have full control over their cards through the app including the ability to activate/deactivate the card or specific functionalities of their cards such as online transactions, POS transactions, ATM withdrawals, international transactions and magnetic stripe use. In addition, they can get real time information on foreign currency conversion rates and change their PIN at any time. This unique capabilities offer a high level of personalization as well as maximum security to the cardholders.
QIB customers can now get Credit Shield Takaful coverage on the outstanding balance of their credit card to protect themselves against not being able to settle it due to any future unforeseen events. With this new service, customers can activate the Takaful plan on their chosen card through the app at a nominal monthly fee automatically deducted from the credit card balance.
Previously introduced app features include the ability to issue a credit card Statement and settle cards’ outstanding balances at any time. Cardholders are also able to request a temporary credit limit increase on all their charge cards, including the Qatar Airways co-branded cards. The additional limit is granted on real time basis and enable the customers to make transactions immediately.
QIB has also launched the ‘Instant Credit Card’ service that is available through the mobile app. The innovative service, which is a first-of-its-kind in Qatar, offers pre-approved QIB customers the opportunity to instantly apply, get approval and receive a credit card tailored to their specific needs.

QIB has introduced major updates on its Mobile App, rated 4.7+ on Play Store and App Store, making it the most voted and top-rated application in the banking sector in Qatar. With more than 100 features, QIB Mobile App is now the most comprehensive, convenient and secure banking channel for QIB retail customers to fulfill their banking needs remotely.
QIB Mobile App can be downloaded from Apple Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery. Customers can easily self-register using their active ATM/Debit card number and PIN. QIB Mobile App offers a seamless banking experience, and allows customers to access all their accounts, check their finance status, perform many activities on their cards, transfer money locally and internationally, pay their bills and more.
