Al Meera Achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification for its Robust Information Security Management Systems
Doha-Qatar – 26 July 2020: Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.P.S.C.) announced that it achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for its robust Information Security Management System (ISMS), enhancing customer trust with its rigorous new personal and commercial data safety initiatives. The ISMS introduced new set of policies and procedures for systematically managing organization’s sensitive data securely under the IT department at Al Meera, which has been accredited by International Accreditation Service (IAS) Inc., USA.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is a globally known standard that makes companies become more secure and sensitive from risks of information security. It is issued against satisfactory completion of a range of specifications for security management systems in organizations that demonstrate high standards for protecting consumer privacy and data security.
The ISO recognition is celebrated by AI Meera as evidence that the organization follows international requirements to enhance the consistency of its processes and customer support.
Eng. Mohammad Abdulla AI Bader, IT Director at AI Meera expressed his views, stating: “This certificate validates that AI Meera meets strict international requirements to ensure the security, fairness, and quality of the data shared with us. Our customers can enjoy Al Meera’s expansive digital services with confidence that their data is protected to the highest standard.”
ISO 27001:2013 standard sets out requirements for the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the information security management system. An ISMS is a comprehensive approach to the handling of confidential business information to keep it secure. Adopting an ISMS is a strategic decision for businesses, involving people, processes, and IT systems, to keep their assets secure in any sector.
A new system of practice has been built around the IT security protocols, processes, rules, and practices to promote and regulate information security management within AI Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.P.S.C).
Al Meera, Qatar’s favourite neighbourhood retailer, operates the widest network of retail branches in the country, with plans to further expand its network that will include digital capabilities. With the ISO certification in place, Al Meera is prepared for new avenues of digital services to augment its customer service experience.
