Doha Festival City Announces Reopening of All Retail Outlets in Line With Phase 2 of Covid-19 Restrictions Lifting
Over 400 brands and retailers are NOW OPEN at Doha Festival City offering shoppers their favorite summer fashion, beauty, and accessories essentials as well as specialty stories including homewares, fitness, and sport.
Doha, Qatar – 2 July 2020: As part of the second phase of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions in Qatar, Doha Festival City, Qatar's one and only destination for shopping has expanded its reopening capacity to welcome back shoppers to their favorite shops and brands.
Visitors can now shop from all their favorite fashion, home décor, electronics, accessories and beauty brands, with an extended capacity of up to 50% of the regular mall capacity, while still maintaining the preventive measures of social distancing in each store.
In addition, food enthusiasts can get their favorite dishes and refreshing drinks for takeaway and home delivery from the variety of restaurants, cafes and food stalls in the mall including Five Guys, Maison du Sushi and Eately.
Families can now enjoy their summer shopping experiences with children aged 12 years and above allowed inside the mall, while taking into consideration all the precautionary measures in place. Children are required to show their green code on the Etheraz app and must be accompanied by their parents, they also always must wear masks while in the mall.
Favorite brands including Harvey Nichols, FNAC and Go Sports are now open and ready to welcome shoppers.
In line with the preventative measures set out by the authorities, Doha Festival City has introduced stringent health and safety measures throughout the mall for its staff and visitors. This includes a thorough mall disinfection treatment on a weekly basis. Robust cleaning and sanitization operations during mall trading hours, and all seating areas and lifts are constantly reviewed and sanitized every 30 to 45 minutes. 127 hand sanitizing stations have also been installed in the areas that have commonly touched surfaces such as entry and exit points, customer service desks, offices, inside of elevators and washrooms. Smoking areas have also been moved far from the entrances to avoid contact between people not wearing masks and visitors coming in or out of the mall.
At the entrance to the mall and all shops, visitors must show their green Ehteraz QR code, and should wear a face mask during their whole time in the mall. Physical distancing stickers in common queuing areas, such as ATM machines, banks, telecommunication kiosks and branches and various retail shops were installed to help shoppers keep the required physical distance as set forth in the guidelines by the authorities. Furthermore, security personnel will be walking around the mall with handheld signs reminding visitors to keep their masks on and adhere to social distancing. Informational signage has also been placed throughout the mall highlighting the safety measures required as well as ministry messages to keep visitors well informed.
Entry and exit points are now segregated by single entry and exit doors to avoid close contact between visitors, and have been set up to screen incoming visitors and to ensure that they comply with entry requirements including monitoring of body temperatures and checking of the green code in the Etheraz app.
Parking spaces have been reduced to 50% to ensure they do not exceed the restricted 50% capacity of the mall. Touchless pedal bins are also located throughout the mall to provide an extra layer of protection for shoppers and mall visitors.
In line with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s directives, opening hours will be Sunday to Thursday from 8am to 10 pm. Monoprix remains open Sunday to Thursday from 8am to 11pm, and Friday and Saturday from 8am to midnight, while M&S Food Hall remains open daily from 9am to 10pm. Boots Pharmacy will remain open from 9am to 10pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 11pm on weekends, and Kulud Pharmacy will be open daily from 8am to midnight. Banking and telecommunications branches will be open Sunday to Friday.
