Thai New Year, also known as Songkran Festival, is celebrated every year from 13-15 April and signifies the astrological change over to the new year. The three-day festival is a mix of tradition and fun and is about showcasing Thailand’s finest dishes.
In celebration of the new year, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in Dusit Doha’s exclusive culinary offering comprising three unique dining concepts: Taste, a contemporary all-day dining restaurant serving tantalising dishes from around the globe; Dusit’s signature Thai restaurant, Benjarong, serving authentic Thai cuisine created using the finest ingredients; and Antoinette’s Café, famous for bringing a taste of Europe to Doha with its fresh French pastries and baked treats.

Carefully crafted using the finest ingredients available, Benjarong’s exclusive dishes for Thai New Year include: ‘Mussaman Ka Kae by Poem of Kind Rama II’ (slow-cooked lamb shank with homemade massaman curry, potatoes, cashew nuts and cherry tomatoes). Another exclusive Thai dish on the menu is the famous ‘Khao Niew Moon Mamuang Gub I-Tim Kati’ (sweet sticky rice and mango dessert). The exclusive menu is available for takeaway orders for guests to enjoy 24/7, and free delivery is available starting from the 14th of April from 12pm to 9pm for orders starting from QAR 250.
For international cuisine lovers, Taste offers unique dishes where authenticity and modernity perfectly blend together. The wide array of options includes Arabic style yellow lentil soup, salads, pasta, mixed tandoori platter, biryani and many other dishes. Highlights include the perfectly prepared honey mustard chicken (oven-roasted baby chicken basted with grain mustard and honey and served with crushed new potato cake and green bean salad); and the delicious Boursin cheese salad with beetroot, shallot, fresh thyme, toasted walnuts, garlic Boursin cheese and wild berries dressing.
For French cuisine aficionados, Antoinette’s Cafe offers the best of French pastries and European favourites including the famous niçoise salad, various sandwiches, chocolate éclairs and a selection of coffee, tea and other refreshments, all available for takeaway orders daily from 7am to 7pm.
