
Qatar Finance and Business Academy in Partnership with Northumbria University Launches New Master's Programme in Finance
Doha, Qatar - 15,March 2020: Qatar Finance and Business Academy in collaboration with Northumbria University (QFBA-Northumbria) launched a new master’s programme (MSc) in Finance. The post graduate degree spans over a period of 1 year. It aims to offer an academically sound yet flexible programme in response to analyzing the current needs, gaps and demands of Qatar’s financial sector.
With a greater aim of providing academic excellence and contributing to Qatar’s human capital development, Qatar Finance and Business Academy in cooperation with Northumbria University sought to provide working professionals with a programme that can empower students to become successful leaders and managers in the market.
Commenting on the launch of the master’s progamme, Khalifa Al Yafei, Director of Student Affairs said:
“In pursuit of contributing to the actualization of the Qatar National and the development of human capital, we launched the master’s program to serve working professionals who want to build upon their existing expertise and gain a competitive edge in the financial services sector. The programme equally offers an ideal platform for self-development, acquiring leadership skills and reinforcing one’s knowledge of the financial market.”
In addition he said:
“We strive to ensure our programmes reflect the current needs and keep up with the developments of the financial services sector. Today, finance related topics such as econometrics, investment and risk management, and global financial trends are of growing importance.”
Facilities offered as part of the MSc Finance Programme include trading suites equipped with Bloomberg terminals providing access to live financial data, portfolio construction, forecasting and optimization tools to analyze and support one’s studies in line with global standards. QFBA-Northumbria also boasts state of the art econometric packages such as E-views 10.0, a strategic financial econometric forecasting tool used worldwide.
