Qatar Post launches nationwide education campaign In celebration of World Post Day
Doha, Qatar, 10 October 2019: On the occasion of “World Post Day”, celebrated annually on October 9, Qatar Post shared its multifaceted program aimed at familiarizing the general public with the various functions of the postal sector, its products and services as well as at raising awareness as to the history and the evolution of Qatar Post.
Commenting on this occasion, Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Post, Mr. Faleh Al Naemi said:
“Since its inception, Qatar Post has made a continuous effort to evolve and modernize its products, services and offerings. Driven by an ambitious vision to expand our reach globally, our efforts have been geared toward cementing Qatar Post’s position in the region as a hub for postal and logistical services.
It is this ambition that guided our product and service innovation throughout our history; we launched state-of-the-art e-services and e-commerce platforms at scale to keep pace with the evolving needs of our customers and online shoppers in Qatar and expanded and modernized our national network at scale. Today, Qatar Post leads by example as an organization that is deeply rooted in the local community and fueled by a global ambition to innovate and bring the best of the world to Qatar through its products and services.”
The World Post Day marks the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the United Nations specialized agency. The Universal Postal Union was founded in 1874 in Bern, Switzerland. The Union effectively declared World Post Day as an annual celebration during the World Conference in Tokyo in 1969.
The UPU aims to raise global awareness on the significant role postal services play in the day-to-day lives of individuals, companies and institutions across all sectors. Additionally, it aims to shed the light on the contributions of postal services in the realm of social and economic development.
On World Post Day, countries around the world celebrate the occasion with the launch of new products and services, employee reward programs, and exhibitions and auctions for limited-edition stamp collections. In addition to seminars, workshops, conferences, cultural, sporting and entertainment events, many companies worldwide select high-ranked cadres to speak on their organization’s history, evolution and achievements.
