CSR Showcases Russia's Tourism Potential under Single Brand Name Discover Russia at Exhibition in Qatar
The Center for Strategic Research has equipped the booth of the Russian single national tourism brand Discover Russia at the specialized exhibition Qatar Travel Mart held in Doha on November 25-27. This is the third international event in November to present the potential of the Russian hospitality industry this way.
The exhibition in Doha is being held in the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) on 15 thousand square meters. The program includes B2B meetings, conferences, and networking sessions. The entire Qatar Travel Mart venue is divided into seven dedicated product sectors: Cultural, Leisure, Business, Sports, Medical, Halal and Luxury Tourism. 300 exhibitors from 60 countries are participating. 12 thousand guests are expected.
At the Russian booth, six regions are to present their potential in the hospitality industry: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Irkutsk and Tver Regions, the Mari El Republic and the Chechen Republic.
It is worth noting that the Persian Gulf market is of strategic importance for inbound tourism in Russia.
'We have already recorded higher demand for trips to our country among citizens of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It is important to continue promotion in other Arab countries. In particular, we are very interested in tourism cooperation with Qatar, which is a key transport and logistics hub in the Middle East. Hardly any platform other than Qatar Travel Mart can be better for this,' says Yulia Maksutova, Director of the CSR Center for the Development of International Tourism.
Qatar Travel Mart in Doha is the last stop in the international tour of the Discover Russia single brand. From 14 to 17 November, Russian regions promoted their hospitality at the Travel Expo Ankara exhibition in Turkey. Then, on November 22-24, they presented a booth at the China International Travel Mart. During the two events, the Russian presentation attracted the attention of visitors and professionals. During the business program, representatives of the ministries of tourism of Russian regions, as well as tour operators and entrepreneurs involved in tourism infrastructure, and their foreign colleagues, discussed how to increase tourist flow among their countries.
'Experience of participation in exhibitions in Ankara and Shanghai has proven that the display united under the national brand Discover Russia is perceived by foreign audiences much better than individual regional booths. The brand has allowed us to create an integral image of Russia as a country with unlimited opportunities for year-round off-season tourism, which is becoming a new global trend,' Ms. Maksutova notes.
Discover Russia is a single national tourism brand uniting Russian regions since 2024. The goal of such consolidation is to jointly attract more tourists from friendly countries. The work is being carried out within the framework of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry national project.
