Qatar Development Bank Wraps Up Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference 2019
The Fifth Edition of Rowad Conference Drew a Large Number of Participants as well as a Host of Valuable Workshops and Interactive Talks and Discussions
Doha, Qatar – 16 November 2019: Qatar Development Bank (QDB) wrapped up Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference 2019 (Rowad Conference 2019), which was held on November 12, 13 and 14 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. The Rowad Conference 2019 launched with the announcement of the four winners of the Rowad Award in its second edition, on the first day of the conference.
This year’s conference drew a large number of visitors and participants from a variety of industries in Qatar as well as SME’s over the course of 3 days.
More than 49 workshops were held with the attendance of 1,207 participants. The conference also welcomed the general public interested in entrepreneurship throughout all of its sessions, and the total number of visitors of the conference was 1,535 visitors.
Commenting on the wrap up of Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference 2019, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al-Khalifa, CEO of Qatar Development Bank said: “We are delighted to see the large numbers of participants at the fifth edition of Rowad Conference. This is yet another testimonial of QDB’s vision and mission to support SMEs in Qatar through a myriad of advisory and financial services, and to contribute to the diversification of the national economy.”
The Rowad Conference 2019 hosted a large number of entrepreneurs and investors in addition to the general public who attended to explore the entrepreneurial landscape in the state, offering a valuable platform for networking and knowledge exchange.
The inauguration of Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference 2019 was marked with the announcement of four winners of Qatar Rowad Award in its second edition. This edition featured the Innovation Award category launched for the first time to attract creative entrepreneurs, and to emphasize on the importance of innovation as one of the vital elements of entrepreneurship that ensures sustainability of the business and its ability keep abreast of the latest developments in the global market.
The conference occurred as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, and is a national initiative that brings together Qatari entrepreneurs and industry key players in Qatar to exchange knowledge and discuss possible opportunities to support entrepreneurs across different sectors.
