Doha – Qatar, 18 January 2018 –  As part of its efforts to bring its world-class capacity building programs to more disciplines and industries in the country, Qatar Development Bank is running an intensive Healthcare Management training program for the first time in Qatar, from the 20th to the 24th of January 2018. The 5-days event, held in collaboration with Qatar financial and business academy QFBA, will be delivered by top of the line faculty from Oxford University, and is set to be attended by high profile executives in the country’s thriving Healthcare sector.

The course’s comprehensive syllabus has been designed by Professor Richard Canter, Professor of Surgical Education at Oxford University and Chairman of the Heads of Schools of Surgery for the United Kingdom. 

The program will be conducted by Professor Canter, along with a team of outstanding tutors and renowned healthcare management authorities, namely Senior Associate Tutor at Oxford University and former Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company Tom Revington, and Richard Gleave, Chief Operating Officer at Oxford University and Director of Performance at the Department of Health in the UK.

From his part, Mr. Abdul Aziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Development Bank, said:

Commenting on the launch of the program, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Emadi, Acting CEO of QFBA, said:

The Healthcare Management training program is designed to provide participants with the latest knowledge on how the management of organizational systems, strategy, risk, human resources, health technology assessment, and finance operate together. Enrollees will be equipped with a broad range of competencies central to the successful delivery of integrated healthcare solutions which can be found amongst the best executive officers and general managers in leading organizations. 

Upon completion of the workshop, participants will have transformed management skills, new capabilities and perspectives for leading change and improvement in their organizations, a sharper focus on institutional capabilities, as well as the strategies, tools and confidence they need to manage the challenging tasks associated with complex healthcare leadership roles. 
The training will be delivered as an interactive seminar and workshop consisting of lectures and small group activities such as discussions, case studies and exercises.
