DOHA, Qatar – 11 March 2017:  Following the overwhelming success of its previous academic terms and the graduation of the fourth cohort of ‘Kawader’ students in February 2017, Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) has opened the doors of registration for the next academic term of the program, which will kick off in September 2017. The Academy is calling on those wishing to build their capacities and hone their skills to join the program as a prelude to realizing their ambition to assume leading roles in the country’s financial services sector.

Applications to the ‘Kawader’ program this year will open on March 15, 2017 and close on April 15, 2017. Applicants will be considered on the basis of the following eligibility criteria: a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, a minimum grade of 76 in TOEFL or a minimum grade of 6 in IELTS (or any other qualification equivalent to TOEFL and IELTS that indicates mastery of the English language), an excellent command of spoken and written English, as well as the ability to demonstrate their interest in the financial services sector.

‘Kawader’ is an exceptional and innovative educational initiative, consisting of a four-month vocational training program designed specifically for potential business leaders and future decision-makers in Qatar’s emerging financial services industry. Aimed at recent graduates, Kawader combines classroom-based, academic learning with practical, on-the-job training to deliver an intensive and holistic financial services training program which equips every participant with practical skills and competencies in cross-functional areas of the financial services sector.

On this occasion, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Horr, CEO of QFBA, said:
“Among the many opportunities and higher education programs available to students and graduates, Kawader offers them a uniquely comprehensive training program in the field of financial services, combining academic education and training in the workplace in the context of a single course, enabling students to directly benefit from their training at internationally renowned financial institutions, as well as from a collection of carefully-crafted, specialized courses backed by world-class professional accreditations that encompass several aspects of the financial sector, including certifications awarded by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) and the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).”
He added: “By cultivating the knowledge, skills, experience and personalities of young Qatari graduates, Kawader prepares them for careers in the financial services sector and develops them into effective employees and leaders in the firms that they will join after graduation. In this way, Kawader offers financial services sector firms access to an exclusive group of highly trained, high-caliber candidates who are already equipped with the necessary tools for success, able to add great value to their departments and organizations from the outset. Since the program’s inception, four generations of graduates have gained the most important skills and educational tools to form a welcome addition to the country’s financial institutions. We hope that the fifth academic term enjoys the same level of success and continues Kawader’s journey and QFBA’s future aspirations.”

Upon completion of Kawader, individuals are differentiated from their peers by having advanced skills in leadership, management and personal development, as well as an in-depth understanding of local and international economic and financial services topics. In addition to their university degrees, they will have three internationally-recognized professional qualifications as well as real-life work experience at a best-in-class professional organization, making them the most sought-after Qatari human capital in the country’s rapidly developing economy.
